Systems Engineering Chapter

I just finished posting up the new site for SEC. Currently, the site is being addressed via my personal domain, corey-m.com but we plan to register SEC with its own domain name as soon as we decide upon one.

This new site is the product of the last website committee meeting. Greg and I decided that we needed a website that would not only show off our club’s existence, but also be an online home for its members. It is a place where members can go and see exactly what has been going on (archives), what is going on (discussions), and what is coming up (calendar) as well as general information about SEC (about). The design style is based slightly from the INCOSE Orlando website. Eventually, I hope that we can funnel all of our communication through it. Here is a list of some useful features of the site:

• Updates can be made using an easy to use administration page, not code.
• Updates can also be published from Google Docs.
• There is an embedded discussion form and calendar within the site.
• The discussion forum can facilitate public (general members) and private (board members) discussions.
• Only members can comment on posts and participate in forum discussions, but anyone can view them.

The site still needs alot of work porting over the pages from our old site and personalizing the design. There will be many updates to the site to come.
